Dear Teresa,
As spring unfolds and the world around us begins to bloom again, I want to gently remind you: you are allowed to heal, to rest, and to grow in your own time.
This April, we're embracing the theme of Healing Through Action—not the hustle kind, the deeply intentional kind. This is about reclaiming your energy, your body, and your peace. It's about choosing rest and movement as sacred acts of self-love, especially when grief and life feel heavy.

Reclaiming Rest: The Radical Act of Self-Care
In a world that often expects women to pour endlessly into others, choosing to rest can feel rebellious. And here's the truth: rest is not a luxury—it’s essential.
Whether you're grieving, rebuilding, or simply exhausted, I invite you to honor your need for quiet, space, and softness. Set boundaries. Say no without guilt. Protect your energy as fiercely as you care for others.
Self-care isn’t selfish—it’s survival
Reclaiming Your Body After Loss: When grief lives in the body, movement can be medicine.
Whether it’s a short walk in the sunshine, a few minutes of gentle stretching, or laying on your mat to simply breathe—you’re moving grief through your body and making space for light to return.
“After my son died, walking became my lifeline. At first, it was just around the block. Then it became a rhythm—my body remembering how to live, one step at a time.” – Grieving Mama
✨ Try This Today: Set a 5-minute timer. Gently move your body in whatever way feels nourishing. No pressure. No goals. Just presence.

💛 Supporting Grieving Families with Love Like Jackson’s
Each month, I have the honor of supporting the Parents and Grandparents Grief Support Group through Love Like Jackson’s. Carrie has created such a tender, safe space rooted in deep understanding and compassion.
Last month, she offered Kaiut Yoga, a restorative practice using gentle, floor-based stretches and gravity to help release tension stored deep within the joints. It was beautiful to witness how even the softest movements could bring such relief and connection.
✨ If you’ve never tried Kaiut Yoga before, I truly recommend it—especially for those carrying grief in the body.
As I reflected on this, I thought of this powerful quote from The Body Keeps the Score by Bessel van der Kolk:
“Trauma is not just an event that took place sometime in the past; it is also the imprint left by that experience on mind, brain, and body.”
This reminder invites us to see grief not only as an emotional experience, it also a physical one—and why practices like movement, breathwork, and somatic therapy are so important for healing.
“One step forward, no matter how small, is still progress.”
